Export your check-ins

Export turns every check-in on your phone into a plain file you can keep somewhere else. The copy is intended to preserve the feeling and any intensity, context, tags, or note saved beside it. Being able to take that history out is concrete evidence that the record is yours to hold.

How export works

Export creates a portable, plain-file copy of the check-in history stored in MyFeelings. It is intended to include every entry, preserving the chosen feeling and optional details. The ability to take the complete history out of the app makes data ownership something you can test directly, not a promise confined to a privacy statement.

The export begins with each Feelings Wheel check-in saved on the phone. If a moment includes context and tags, intensity, or a note, those details belong beside the chosen feeling in the portable copy. Blank optional fields can remain blank instead of being turned into invented information.

Carry the whole history

Export covers the saved history, rather than only entries visible on one screen. Each record is intended to keep the chosen feeling with details saved for that moment: intensity, context, tags, and a note. Optional details left blank stay blank in the copy.

Create a plain file

The output is a plain file kept outside the app. You can store the copy separately from the working history on the phone and move it to a destination you choose. The product description does not name a specific extension or encoding.

Choose when it leaves

Export starts when you decide to create a copy. Check-ins stay on the phone during normal use; a file exists elsewhere only after your request. That makes the handoff visible, and you decide where the new copy is stored or sent.

How to use export

Making an export is a deliberate four-part task: open the export control, understand that the whole saved history is in scope, create the file, then choose a destination on the phone. The process leaves the original check-ins in place and moves no copy until you ask for one.

Choose to export

Choose export when you want a copy of the history on this phone. Entries do not need to be prepared or rewritten one at a time. The intended scope includes the complete saved set, not only the recent-history view.

Understand the scope

Know that the file is intended to contain everything you logged. Each check-in may carry a feeling, intensity, tags, context, or a note. Choose a destination that suits the most private detail in that history.

Create the copy

Create the export. MyFeelings assembles the saved check-ins into one plain file while leaving the originals on the phone. Making a copy is separate from deleting history or placing that copy in a public location.

Place the file

Place or share the file using options available on the phone. After the copy leaves MyFeelings, its privacy depends on the destination. A private folder and a public message thread give the same records very different audiences.

What export shows you

The four counts illustrate the reader's own saved history, not product metrics, public totals, or scores. They show how an export might be checked: total entries, then entries with an intensity, tag, or note. The values are fictional and do not describe a real person, an adoption rate, or an outcome.

The counts make the scope concrete. The plain file itself is the deliverable: each underlying record keeps the feeling and any saved details. A number on this page does not promise that the file contains an aggregate summary.

Export vs. Copying entries by hand

Exporting a complete history and copying entries manually produce different kinds of backup. Export gathers the saved records into one plain file while leaving the originals untouched. Manual copying can capture a chosen snippet or screenshot, but it asks you to select and reproduce each entry, along with any attached details, yourself.

Questions about export

What does a MyFeelings export include?

The export is intended to include every saved check-in, with the feeling and any intensity, context, tags, or note saved for that moment. Optional details never entered cannot appear. It is a copy of the recorded history, not a new summary or interpretation.

What file format does MyFeelings use for export?

The product description calls the output a plain file but does not identify an extension or encoding. It would be inaccurate to promise CSV, JSON, PDF, or another named format until the shipped export can be checked directly. The intent is a portable copy that can exist outside MyFeelings.

Does exporting delete my check-ins?

No. Export creates a copy and leaves the original check-ins on the phone. Deleting records from MyFeelings is separate, as is removing an exported copy from its destination. You can make a backup without changing the history you still use in the app, then delete either copy independently.

Can I open the exported file outside MyFeelings?

The output is intended to be a plain file that exists outside the app. Whether a particular program can open or import it depends on the final format, which is not yet named. Do not assume compatibility with a spreadsheet, journal, or another tracker until that format is confirmed.

How do I keep an exported feelings tracker file private?

Choose a destination whose access and retention settings you understand, especially when entries include names, places, events, or notes. The original history stays on the phone until export, while the new copy follows the rules of wherever you save or send it. Remove unwanted copies at that destination.

Thirty seconds, once a day. In two weeks you have a map of what actually moves you — and it works offline.
